A wet cycle ride into Ipswich proved well worth it. A big thanks to Andrew from Dial Lane Books for buying copies of "Slow Puncture" and "Walk with Me" for his shop (not such a big thanks to the photographer - oh, that was me - for not asking Andrew and Peter to pose with BOTH books).
Dial Lane is a lovely independent bookshop in a quaint lane in the heart of Ipswich - thoroughly recommend a browse there if you are ever in the area.
We then popped into Berridges for lunch - Restaurant | Berridges - a charming restaurant situated above a jewellers. It was genteel and felt like a throwback to the 1960s but in a good way. Although we were all lycra clad and slightly muddy from the rain, no one raised a well-bred eyebrow and we were shown to our table with the sort of decorum one would expect from such an establishment. We devoured enough calories to sustain us for the cycle ride home - with a 50 mile round trip, books sold and food eaten, it felt like a good day!
