Apologies for the tardy posting for reasons which were slightly out of my control. Let's just say I was banished from the computer room at home and leave it to your imaginations.
Nonetheless, here is a quick update on a great four days in Cornwall where Peter and I delivered our presentation on creativity, friendship and dementia. Peter came up with the evocative title for the presentation of "Building Castle from the Rubble of My Dementia" and I couldn't have bettered that.
Teresa and Martin had equally key roles and were commissioned to take as many photos as possible. That's great partnership working!
Our host, Ellie, had organised an amazing four days and the attention to detail was fantastic. There were talks, demonstrations, art sessions and even a laughter workshop. A big shout out for the amazing food at the Tate in St Ives and for the care Ellie and her conferences co-organisers took of us all. Our connection with Ellie? Well, that had come about via Twitter. After 'connecting' on Twitter, Peter and I had delivered two online book group talks for her students doing their MSc in Dementia studies.
Some of these pictures might seem a little bizarre and, indeed, they are, but that's the nature of a conference... Suffice to say, we all left feeling well and truly connected.
